Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in the United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In the Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’.

The story of its growth from a small institution in pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India.

About CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in 1831, which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The graduate attributes of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) are focused on ‘Holistic Development’ or ‘whole person growth’ and is attained through academic excellence, professional competence, and personal, interpersonal and societal skills.

Established in 2003, Hidayatullah National Law University has completed the journey of more than one and half a decade. In such a short span of time, HNLU has carved out a niche in the realm of legal education across India and the legacy is soaring towards newer heights day by day.

Named after the great legal luminary Justice Mohammed Hidayatullah, the University was established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act (Act No.10 of 2003).

HNLU is the sixth in the series of National Law Schools across India. HNLU has been included in the list of the Universities maintained by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and has been declared fit to receive Central assistance in terms of the rules framed under Section 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India under section 7 of the Advocates Act 1961.

What started with baby steps in 1981, NMIMS has today emerged as a globally reputed university. Always socially conscious, the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) made the decision to cater to the rising demand of management institutes in the country. This led to the birth of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). It began humbly by offering two-year full-time master’s programme in management studies with 4 full time faculty, 3162 books and an intake of 40 students above Bhaidas Hall, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.

Amity University is a private university located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and was established in the year 2010. The institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and The University Grants Commission of India (UGC). Amity University is also accredited by Bar Council of India (BCI) and Council of Architecture. The Institute offers various UG, Integrated, PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses. Admissions to most of the courses will be done on the basis of Entrance Exams conducted by the University whereas, for few of them, scores obtained in External Entrance Exams will be considered.

1884 is the landmark year as the foundation stone was laid 140 years ago for Shri Vaishnav Group of Institutions by compassionate cloth merchants of Vaishnav cult of Indore, which was later rechristened as Shri Vaishnav Sahayak Kapada Market Committee in the year 1934.

Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Trust believes in taking the nation forward by improving the quality of life of its citizens by continuously working in the sphere of education, health and environment. It has been established to promote education and research in various disciplines through academic institutions for the benefits of all sections of the society, but not with the motive of profit.

Shri Vaishnav Shekshanik Avam Parmarthik Nyas was established under the able guidance of Shri Vaishnav Sahayak Kapada Market Committee in the year 1981. Since then, Nyas has been working relentlessly for the upliftment of the society and country as a whole by providing better technical and professional education, health facilities, schools and other services. Shri Vaishnav Sahayak Kapada Market Committee is running the following Trusts, Colleges, Schools and Institutes of Professional Studies and Research and also rendering social service.

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences was established under the WBNUJS Act, 1999 (West Bengal Act IX of 1999) adopted by the West Bengal Legislature in July, 1999.

The University was notified under Clause (f) of Section 2 of the UGC Act, 1956 in August 2004 and has been granted permanent affiliation by the Bar Council of India in July 2005. On 28 October 2002, the university’s present-day permanent campus was inaugurated by the then Chief Justice of India, B. N. Kirpal.
