About the Competition
Moot court is a powerful pedagogical tool that bridges the gap between theoretical legal education and its practical application. V. R. Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College is proud to announce its 1st All India Moot Court Competition, 2025, which will be conducted in hybrid mode from 5th to 12th July 2025. This milestone event reflects the institution’s dedication to academic excellence and practical legal training.
The competition is designed to sharpen participants’ legal research, mooting, and advocacy skills through engagement with contemporary legal issues. Judged by a distinguished panel comprising legal professionals, academicians, and members of the judiciary, this event promises a challenging and enriching experience.
Eligibility
- Open to undergraduate students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs from institutions/universities recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Each institution may send up to two teams.
- A team must comprise either:
- Two members (both as speakers, one doubling as researcher), or
- Three members (two speakers and one researcher).
- Teams must declare their composition during registration.
Registration Details
Provisional Registration Fee: ₹1500 per team
Final Registration Fee: ₹2500 per team (only for teams whose memorials are shortlisted for preliminary rounds)
Prizes
- Winner: Trophy + Certificate of Merit + ₹50,000 Cash Prize
- Runner-Up: Trophy + Certificate + ₹30,000 Cash Prize
- Best Speaker: Trophy + Certificate + ₹10,000 Cash Prize
- Best Memorial: Trophy + Certificate + ₹5,000 Cash Prize
- Best Researcher: Trophy + Certificate + ₹5,000 Cash Prize

Organizer
V.R Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College, Elavanchery, Palakkad started functioning on 08.10.2014, with the motto, ‘At the top, beyond the border’. It is the first Law College in the Palakkad District and is affiliated to the University of Calicut. The first batch of the Law college graduated in the academic year of January, 2020.
The new college building was inaugurated by Sri.Pinarayi Vijiyan, the hounorable Chief Minister of Kerala, and in the esteemed presence of Shri K T Jalil, Minister for Higher Education, Kerala and other dignatories on the 21st Oct 2019 and the affiliation of the college was approved by the Bar Council of India. V.R. Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College fulfills a very important objective of legal education, which is the promotion of a society based legal education.
