📌 About the Organisation
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, provides free legal services to weaker sections of society to ensure justice is not denied due to economic or other disabilities.
📌 About the Internship
NALSA offers a physical internship programme for law students across India to gain hands-on exposure to legal aid mechanisms and understand the workings of legal services institutions.
📌 Mode
Physical (onsite in New Delhi)
📌 Roles and Responsibilities
- Reading and analysis of NALSA’s SOPs, schemes, modules, and reports
- Field visits (approx. 10 days) to:
- Delhi State Legal Services Authority
- District Legal Services Authorities
- Legal Aid Defence Counsel Office
- National Lok Adalat
- Institutional visits to:
- Remand Courts
- CAW Cells
- DM Office
- Mediation Centre at the Supreme Court
- Supreme Court Library
- Supreme Court Legal Services Committee
- Closing interaction with NALSA’s team and a group photograph
📌 Eligibility Criteria
- Law students enrolled in a 3-Year LL.B or 5-Year Integrated Law Course from any recognised institution
- Preference to:
- 2nd/3rd-year students of the 3-Year LL.B course
- 4th/5th-year students of the 5-Year Integrated Law Course
📌 Stipend
No stipend will be provided.
