About Us:
We are a dynamic organization managing multiple OTT platforms in India, offering a wide range of entertainment content. As we grow, we’re looking for a skilled Media Lawyer to join our legal team and guide us through the evolving media and entertainment legal landscape.
Role Description:
As a Media Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel across various media formats—television, film, digital, print, and social media. You will handle legal matters related to IP, defamation, content regulation, talent contracts, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on media content across platforms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate licensing, distribution, and talent agreements.
- Handle IP matters: copyright, trademark, and image rights.
- Advise on defamation, privacy, and reputation management issues.
- Ensure compliance with advertising and broadcasting regulations.
- Conduct pre-publication content clearance and legal review.
- Mitigate legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with external counsel when necessary.
- Stay up to date on legal developments in the media/entertainment sector.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. degree and valid license to practice law in India.
- 3–7 years PQE in media law (in-house or law firm).
- Strong understanding of IP, contracts, and media-specific legal issues.
- Prior experience with studios, publishers, or OTT platforms preferred.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong multitasking ability and attention to deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
