Position : Legal Intern

About the Opportunity

looking for an intern to work with me this summer – June of 2024. Since the High Court is restricted to the vacation bench, I want to invest my mental resources into some sort of academic work.
As a note to law students who want to get into litigation, physical internships in June in Delhi are not worth it. Most chambers are on limited functioning and the court system in June does not give the correct perspective on how court actually works.

Tasks during the internship

The work will include research on various topics in the realm of arbitration law, intellectual property rights, constitutional law (we shall learn together), commercial law, the CPC, etc.
The idea is to critically analyse the position of law and test judicial opinion on certain aspects.

Remote internship

It will be a purely remote internship, where we will connect once every 2-3 days through VC and take a stock of things.

Qualifications

This internship is open to law students who have/are going into their final year – commencing their 3rd year (3 year program) and commencing their 5th year (5 year program).

I do not expect you to know anything, because neither did I as a law student!
However, candidates who have published research papers and articles in the past, would be given preference, simply because my life would become easier.

Benefits

Quite obviously, if we are able to produce some quality research which translates into a publication, you shall be named as a co-author.

I will also be giving a stipend at the end of the internship.

Write to me on

Whoever is interested, please write to me on amervaid@gmail.com with your updated CV (this is just to ensure that you meet the aforementioned criteria).

Additionally, you will have to share a one pager (Times New Roman “12, 1.5 line spacing) on whether the constitution bench of the Hon’ble Supreme Court has gone wrong in its decision in Cox & Kings Ltd. v. SAP India Pvt. Ltd, 2023 INSC 1051. I want your opinion but back it up with research, wherever necessary.

Candidates must apply by 06.06.2024 – this Thursday. I endeavour to start the work as soon as possible.
