Theoretical overview

Counselling is the process of addressing the problem of the concerned and advising him by offering him appropriate solution and suggestion.

Types of counselling:

  1. Legal counselling: legal counselling deals with legal problem of the client legal counselling is giving by the lawyer to his/her client on any matter related to law and its proceedings.
  2. Psychological counselling: it deals with mental health issues like depression, anxiety etc
  3. Career counselling: career  counselling deals with career related problem that the person are facing, advising him how to deal with career problem.
  4. Marriage counselling: delas with marriage and marriage related problems. 
  5. Teen counselling: it deals with teenager and problems they are facing. Like anger management , depression anxiety , fear in facing people etc.

Difference between counselling and legal counselling

Legal counselling: legal counselling  is advise given on legal matters related to law and its proceedings. Legal counselling is given by lawyer or advocate who are in need of help regarding matter of disputes controversy. Legal counselling is given on case pending on the defendant. Plaintiff can also get legal counselling from lawyer in matter related to case

They are advice how to proceed with case. It is given in professional mode.

Lawyer get paid for giving legal advice.

The legal counselor advice, direct the client in resolving legal issue.

General counselling: general counselling is advice given on general matter like education , job, placement, carer building etc

General counselling are of two types : professional counselling and service oriented counselling .

Professional counselling: in professional counselling fee are collected by the person who gives the advice for guiding a student or a person as how to built career, secure job.

Service oriented : it is a part of educational institute like collage , school. No fees are collected since it is part of a institution. .
