Theoretical overview

The scope of political science is wider scope. However in beginning when political science was emerged at that time its scope was very narrow was only limited to doing the study of state and city but with passage of time it include study of government, study of behavior of men etc. but now its scope is undefine and unlimited.

  1. Study of state: it tells us what is sate , how state is formed. Political science give knowledge how a welfare state is formed. There are 4 elements of government which are population , territory , government & sovereignty.
  2. Study of government: political science gives us knowledge about what is government why the gov. is formed what are the types of government. government refers to the institutions and structures that are responsible for implementing and enforcing laws and policies that are determined by the political process. To ensure that laws are passed and enforced in an effective and fair manner, governments typically are divided into branches, such as the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
  3. Study of international relationship: Todays era is era of international polity in which every country is depend on other country no country can survive with the help of other country . we depend on other country for various needs such as foods, cloths, money etc without the help of other country no country will survive.
  4. Study of relationship b/w human  and state : how state makes law for people is covered under political science and how state is represent country on national level comes under political science.
  5. Study of constitution: constitution is the set of rules which have to be followed by every citizen . political science gives knowledge about the features of constitution tells about various fundamental rights such as right to education, right to speech, right to equality, right to freedom etc
  6.  Studies of political parties: what are political parties and how political parties are formed and who can be the member of the party are covered under pol science
  7. Study of various political concepts: political concept like justice, rights ,liberty, duty, secularism etc
