OVERVIEW

Here in this topic, we are going to see influential actors of Political science which are Political parties and pressure groups. Both of these concepts are distinct from each other and operate in different ways. So, here we will talk about these two concepts and their differences. Let us start.

POLITICAL PARTIES

  • The main goal of Political parties is to win elections and take seats in the parliament to govern, make laws, and control power over the country.
  • Their formal organization is based on a distinctive manner which includes hierarchy, leadership, and membership base. Their branches are bifurcated into three stages that are local, state, and national levels.
  • Parties make their party as per their different ideologies, and perspectives like democratic, socialism, liberalism, and conservative etc.
  • They also recruit persons in their party, raise funds, participate in elections, etc. Activities take part by the parties.

PRESSURE GROUPS

  • The main goal of pressure groups is to influence people on specific issues related to the law. They raise their questions about government decisions which are in the areas of care they need.
  • They can be formal and informal, made by a coalition to take steps forward to social movements, which is causing society. Members of this group can be of any industry and profession.
  • Their ideologies are based on some issues which are arising through some specific policy or other things. But not necessarily comprehensive Political ideologies.
  • Some people make pressure groups like lobbying policymakers, educators, advocates, etc who raise questions on some specific issues causing them.

Political parties give a platform to choose their representative to whom they want to make the government whereas pressure groups provide diverse perspectives and ideologies on specific important issues. They create a dynamic Political platform where everyone raises their voice and puts questions for wrong and right things through which the interaction of citizens is still going on. Which helps to make the government more accountable, stable, and reliable.
